Volume 20, Number 1________________________________________September 2001

Message from the President

Welcome back everyone,

I can't believe it. Summer is over and September is here. During the summer, the newly elected executive committee met several times to prepare for the upcoming year. To refresh your memory:

President - Sylvester J. Knox
Vice President - Brian Zelubowski
Treasurer - Terry Tracy
Secretary - Gary Simpson

Special thanks go out to Candace and Gordon for serving two years as BMETS officers, and to Rich Richardson for maintaining the web site and doing an excellent job. Please take the time to thank them for their hard work and dedication keeping the BMETS going. I personally want to thank all of the members for their continued support. Whether you joined for the meetings, newsletters, or networking with others in the field, the Executive committee will continue to operate the society with its members in mind.

There are a few points the members need to keep in mind. The society will continue as long as members show support. That support can be shown in many ways. Foremost, paying your membership dues. Compared to many other organizations, the dues for the BMETS are very affordable. Second, plan on attending meetings. The quality of meetings is proportional to meeting attendance. Once vendors and guest speakers find out that a major portion of our membership attend meetings, their interest in hosting meetings will increase. RSVP's are very important. This allows the vendor to get an idea on how many members will be attending the meeting. The last point, stay active in the BMETS. Take a position as an officer, join a committee, pass along information to the web site or newsletter, and participate at meetings.

Make sure you stop by the web site from time to time. (www.BMETS.org) Check the calendar for meeting dates, visit the links page, or drop an email off. Don't forget to make time to attend a meeting. See ya soon.

Message from the Secretary

I am very pleased to be able to serve such a wonderful group of people. I will try to provide the type of support that you have become accustomed to receiving and maybe be able to bring in a few new things.

I am so excited to get this year up and going and I hope that you all will join us and share in the fun, education and excitement.

Gary
