Volume 20, Number 4________________________________________February 2002

Message from the President

How bout those shirts and hats?

I first want to thank Dan Bernoske of Evans Medical and Mike Bryles of DNI Nevada for a great meeting. Good food, good location, and good presentation add up to a great January meeting. Thanks again.

As I alluded to in the opening, if you missed the meeting, the "Z" man presented the prototype BMETS shirt and hat. Very sharp and nicely priced. More will be forthcoming at the meeting.

The February meeting will be paid for by the BMETS for its members. The executive committee covers topics we feel are important to the members at our monthly meetings. The February meeting will allow us time to discuss topics directly relating to the membership. Members are encouraged to present any topics relating to the BMETS and each of the four officers will have topics to cover.

Remember to make time for a meeting. See ya.

Message from the Secretary

As our President has already said the January meeting was an absolute blow out. The kind folks from Evans Medical and DNI Nevada provided some fine eating, a great presentation, and some real nice door prizes ((CD players, jackets, flashlights) (Yeah, you missed em!!)). DNI Nevada has a nifty new gadget that evaluates endoscopes to see if they really need to be sent out for repair.

Vester was right on the mark when he said that Brian Zelubowski (our V.P.) was not to be out done by our guests. He brought down the house when he presented the new B.M.E.T.S. apparel. Yes ladies and gentlemen you can now purchase shirts and hats with our logo and they sure look sweet. Had you been there you might have been the lucky member who walked away with one of these fine hats as a door prize.

As we look ahead, it is again the time of year for our annual business meeting. I would encourage each and every member to attend this very important affair. The society condenses all its major business for the year into a single meeting and you don't want your opinions and votes to be left out. The society uses rules that allow a simple majority of those present to carry a vote. That means if you stay home, you might allow a very few people to decide what course our 128 members will follow next year.

Rich Richardson, our most excellent webmaster, wanted me to remind everyone that it is once again time to complete the salary survey. You can find and complete this survey on the B.M.E.T.S. homepage at www.BMETS.org. By the way, if you haven't visited our homepage lately it is well worth the effort. Rich has all sorts of information available, he has space reserved for you to list your work place, links to other societies, membership applications, newsletters, etc., etc. Drop by today!!

Gary
